Stickley 2024 Collector Edition

2024 Collector Edition Mission Rose Cabinet

The 2024 Collector Edition Mission Rose Cabinet may be small, but it offers remarkable versatility. You can use it as an entry cabinet beneath a mirror, a bedside or chairside table, a linen cabinet, or even a compact bar. Its slim profile makes it easy to place, while its design ensures it never feels secondary.

Light, tapered legs support a slender case crafted from solid American white oak. Bold chamfered corners with rounded stops define the form and reference a classic carpenter’s detail, updated with a cleaner, more refined look. At the same time, familiar Mission elements anchor the design. Exposed pin joints and through-post construction highlight Stickley’s commitment to honest craftsmanship, while subtle pyramidal tops add quiet visual interest.

THE STORY OF THE MISSION ROSE

This striking inlay motif was first used in a bedroom suite by Stickley Bros. of Grand Rapids, led by Albert Stickley (brother of Gustav and Leopold), in 1903. The design shows some influence of Scottish designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh, as well as British Art Nouveau, and may have been created by Stickley Bros. designers T.A Conti, known for his inlay work, and Scotsman David Robertson Smith.
