Harvey Ellis Collection

In 1903, Gustav Stickley invited a little-known architect, Harvey Ellis, to write a new chapter in the history of furniture design and craftsmanship.  Integrating his naturally whimsical inlays and classically harmonious arches into Stickley’s robust Mission designs, Ellis conceived an organically brilliant style.  Today we celebrate the “genius in the shadows” by reissuing many of his signature pieces.

While decorative touches of inlay were often rare in the early days of Arts & Crafts, these Harvey Ellis designs are a must-have look for today and feature intricate inlay patterns of  English Sycamore, maple, cherry makore, magnolia and birds eye maple.  Such decorative touches were rare in the Arts & Crafts realm, and along with Stickley’s unmatched construction features, set these treasures apart as a very special addition to any living area.
